There are many wall-mounted basketball hoops available and it can be difficult to choose the right one. There are a few things that you should consider when choosing the right hoop for you. It will be easier to choose the right wall-mounted court game hoops for you once you have narrowed your choices using these criteria.

What Size Backboard Do you Want?

A regulation-sized backboard measures 42 inches X 72 inches. If you need a hoop that is regulation-sized, you should choose one with a 72-inch backboard. A 60-inch hoop is suitable for practice, rec gym, or youth facility. A 60-inch, 54-inch, or 48-inch hoop would work well for a residence.

Foldability and Adjustability

Consider whether your wall-mounted basketball hoops should be folded down when not in use. This gives you more flexibility when using your gym or other facilities. A hoop should fold to one side or up to the ceiling if you are looking for foldability. Foldability can only be achieved on wall mounts at least four feet away from the wall. You can choose to have a manual winch or an electric winch for upward folding hoops.

You might also want to think about adjustability. You might consider lowering the rim height to accommodate young children. Wall mounts that have shorter wall-to-backboard extensions (generally less than four feet) may include adjustable features. Usually, these hoops will allow you to lower the rim down to seven or seven-and-a-half feet (and sometimes even six feet). A separate height adjuster is required if you require a hoop to extend beyond four feet from the wall. You can adjust the height of your hoop up to eight feet with separate height adjusters.
